Titanium Nitride (TiN) A good general purpose coating for protection of a wide variety of tools and parts from wear. TiN is a good choice for machining of iron-based materials, moulding of plastics, and for components requiring resistance to abrasive and adhesive wear.
Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN)
A high performance coating for milling, forming, and punching tools that encounter excessive mechanically stressed cutting and forming edges, and where high feed and speed rates are desired.
WC/C
Comprised of hard tungsten carbide particles in a softer amorphous carbon matrix. This coating provides excellent friction reduction and can benefit cutting and moulding and forming tools which are experiencing adhesive wear.
CrN (Chromimum nitride)
A specialised coating that resists adhesive wear and oxidation. It is recommended for the machining of copper based materials and forming operations. It is considerably harder than conventional chrome plating with greater wear resistance. Recommended for all cutting operations on a pure Copper workpiece.
FUTURA - Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiALN)
A multilayer coating designed for a wide range of carbide, cermet and high speed steel tooling. Excellent for machining cast iron, stainless steel, nickel-based high temperature alloys, and hardened steel workpieces <45HRc. Excellent oxidation resistance allows high speed and semi-dry or dry machining operations.
X.TREME - Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiALN)
A specialised coating designed specifically for use on carbide and premium grade high speed steel cutting tools for machining of hardened steel workpieces 45-65HRc. High hardness and excellent thermal stability protects against premature tool wear. Excellent oxidation resistance allows high speed and semi-dry or dry machining operations.
HARDLUBE
Coated HSS and solid carbide drills deliver excellent results in cutting problematic, long chipping materials (soft steels, stainless steels and aluminium alloys) dry or with minimal coolant. The low friction WC/C coating effectively provides a polished flute to aid chip evacuation, and the hard TiAIN coating protects the cutting edges against wear, even at extremely high temperatures. Coating of choice for machining with high demand of friction and temperature control.
